Got this area finished. Just needs sound deadner mat.

Finished those removable floor panels. Stared about two years ago.... removed rust and painted those areas... tried to do some sanding... paint was not dry... Had to do massive paint removal operetion. Then new balck paint...

The shocks with the coils are probably Monroe 58510, I have them on my Eagles and they work great. Definitely a good way to assist those tired leaf springs!

Today it was time to do something....
Weather was perfect.

First wiew...

And this...

Got rid of that old patch...

...and floor...

Made a new piece to replace rusted sheet metal, and that left side goes to sill and closes it.

There was a "but"... Inside of sill was rusted, there were two big holes.

These...

Look mom, no rust!

Had to repair safety belt bracket...

Welding leaf spring bracket...

New sill patch and brackets welded...

I welded this inside of the sill...

This fits well...

I wish my welds were as nice as those...

(I haven't been with this tread from the beginning, so I don't know what metal prep you're doing post welding before painting. Some years back I discovered that a lot of old car restorers are using Flood Penetrol Oil Paint Conditioner as their Best Practices for a metal prep, letting it dry/cure for a week before priming & painting. It coats the surface with a very sealing dried material, that also soaks into surface rust, blocking new O2 and blocking existing O2 in the rust from having further action. I've had very good results with it, working better than anything tried before or since. It's also effective inhibiting rust when sprayed or brushed on rust as a temporary measure with a yearly application checkup.)

Excellent fabrication work.

Keeping a eye on your progress with hopes that I’ll learn some techniques. I have a rust hole in front of the left front wheel. Looks extremely time consuming.
