HOT, HOT...and sunny day, again....

Today it was time to do something about drivers side wall...

First open a great big hole...




A replacement piece and some instructions...



Same way as done before...



Old and new....



Welded.



Drivers seat mounting...



... bracket had to be made new... Somekind of dejavu´...



And all welded together...

Before I could weld those... I had to cut this piece of sheet metal...

Fits nicely...



Had to cut more...



...to fix this area.

More rust removed.



It just needs this...

Started working on drivers side... This was the swiss rust repair...



But I had to begin from this point...



Guess why?  :banghead:



Like peeling an orange...



This was behind the patch work...



Now it was time to open the floor panel.



I had to go deeper and deeper... rust and more rust...  :censored:  All swiss sheet metal is now removed.



Then it was time to remove the original sheetmetal... Now I can start my patch work...

I used one piece of original sheet metal and added some new...



And now it is welded like it was before...



Plugwelded and there is a seam weld too.



When I removed last of rusted parts, a piece of outer skin showed some rust issue. Had to repair it too...



I had to peel my frame more than I had on my mind. Now it is like peeling an onion... not an orange.
Water and road salt gone in very deep...  :censored:



Designing new patch...



It was very rough, so new one is about the same. I.e. 3 mm 1/8 "



Done.



Ja sitten kiinni. Laitoin myös tuosta yläreunasta kiinni. Aiemmin vain tuolta alaosastaan pistehitseillä. Tuossa palikassa oli alunperin paikka ja kiinnitysreijät kytkimen nivelen helalle. No niitä ei tällä puolen tarvita...

Welded... Did more welding than original... joined upper and lower part.



Inner fender needed some metal too...



After thet I could weld a new piece of that beam wall.



Welded.



Then outer skin....



Welded...



Finished.



Painted.



Floor needs some sheet metal, but now there is someting to weld on.



This was a six hour job.

Floor needed some attention... MAde first that double seam...



After that time consuming step it was easy job to fabricate missing piece towards to firewall.



Next step was paint... Had just black paint...



Now there is one spot thet needs attention... tomorrow maybe...

Today this last rust spot got my attention... This has also that screw hole which made that rust issue...

After that it was time to paint and some body seal and srone chip spray and after that a thin layer of silver spray paint..

Today I did some wiring harness job, painted those rear side window areas black, some rust protection, and made a lot of all kind of small jobs. So I could spread that new ACC carpet to the floor pan and let it straighten for some days.. Then it is time to do some interior jobs...  ;D



I think that before that I´ll do something wih this bird....  :help:

As far as I know left sill has bent about 2,5 cm  i.e. 1"... There can be something else, I´m not sure.
But I´ll but this on a car body bench. My friend has one and we are going to move it to my garage...

Long story short.... Somebody came behind the STOP-sign and hit driver side of Concord. And it bounced out of the country road and ended to the bottom of a deep ditch. And it hit also trafic sign and road sign posts. Like tihis....
