what part number is the tank, and did you get the thing complete?  sending unit and float, or were they separate?

This tank came from American parts Depot.

This is it: 80-88 All except SX4 & Spirit Gas Tank 941 3001E $195.00

All other parts are sold separately... I used old sending unit, but bought new sender unit seal and lock.

If you are going to buy a tank from APD. Ask them if they have tanks that are welded right. Not backwards like mine!

Looking good as usual. Did you mix up the Citricacid gel solution you used or was that a commercial product.

Got this electric pedalcar finished to day... It took about 4 years to do!

My daughter can drive it but my son can´t anymore...

This is pic "before"... It is original Monza racecar.

Next step was to polish windscreen (and windows).

There were a nasty pair of wiper made marks, one both sides. After basic polishing I concentrated on these marks. And made them disappear...  :hello2: I used tape to show where to polish.

I used these...

They make compound specifically for glass (maybe what that stuf is?), you may be able to get away with using a micro finishing compound but I never tried it, I plan on trying it out on my old jeep though just for sticks and giggles, lol.

That polishing stuff is ceriumoxide. I mixed it with water and used it like any other rubbing compound.

Teknofokus is a finnish company that deals with optic components and materials. They use it making lenses, optic mirrors and such. I think that you can buy it in U.S., too...

Today I had time to do something. I had bought a new battery, normal size. It didn´t fit to battery tray. Someone had noticed that thing before and done some cutting and hammering.

I cut that tray in two and hammered that edge like it should be.

Then it was time to do some measuring... 7/8" it was or 22 mm.

Now it looks much bigger.

More welding and some testing. Tight fit... had to open little those bolt holes. Now final weld and then paint...
