Is the rest of the car that rusty?  Looks like a lot of work ahead of you.  Yes, additional pictures would be nice when you have the time.

Sure dose look like you have your worke cut off on the fabrication and rust remobel section.
Try to see if you can locate some good iner fenders to swap for the ones that are on there at this time.

I´m not so fast as it looks. It took me several days to do that job. And more was ahead...

But after paint work it looks better than ever. I had to do quite a big job with rotten front axle.

Recomendation:
Since you got the fender disasemble why not allso spray it with some undercoating for better protection and to absorb the road noise?

There are a lot of rust protection inside of frame and all weldings. After paint I sprayed first layer. When all things are put together (Brakelines, Fenders...) I´ll spray "tons" of undercoating. Salt is used in Finland too...

I don´t want to spoil (again) this rare finnish car.  In Finland we have only 8 Eagles! (I have got two of them!)

And we thought some people here were trying to corner the AMC Eagle market -- you have 25% of them in your country!

Near me lives a guy who owns also two Eagles! It means that 50 % of finnish Eagles are very close to each other, near city of Tampere.

My other Eagle isn´t very beautiful, but it works!

I bought it about a year ago. It was taken in to a wreckyard of abandoned vehicles in Helsinki (capitol of Finland)!

Not beautiful right now.  But at least you saved what is a rare bird in your country.  So do VW vans only come in orange in Finland?  They are now rare in the U.S. -- the old air cooled ones were very popular here in the 60's and 70's.

So is that lift kit working for you or dose it get expensive moving the crane along with the AMC Eagle Wagon?

Orange VW Diesel Transporters were used by finnish post.

The most usual color was blue (as far as I can remember) and when it got sun, it turned into greyish...

That crane belongs local car wrecker and he said that 2x4 thru windows is the best and safet way to lift or move cars...

(I´ve got pics where you can see Eagle flying... wanna see?)
