DON`T WORRY ABOUT OF THE DISTANCE RIGHT NOW. YOU MUST TAKE THE CAR FOR AN ALIGNMENT SERVICE AFTER REASSEMBLING THE WHOLE SUSPENSION. THEY HAVE THE ALIGNMENT EQUIPMENT TO ADJUST THAT DISTANCE. GREETINGS

It is not so easy in Finland... Here we had no importer of Rambler/AMC after 1973... And nowadays our local aligment services don´t know anything about AMC or Ramblers. All AMCs younger that are private imports. All but Jeeps.

I´ll need this distance to get suspension parts together about right. They were apart and new bushings are different than the original ones.

Started last welding job. Left fender needs some new sheet metal...

It isn´t so bad at all... or is it just an illusion...

Without plastic parts it is not so nice at all...

Let´s take a closer look...

Inside there isn´t much metal left.

Do not touch that black area!  :police:

Welding started...

Looks good.  Did you form that fender lip yourself or cut it off another fender?

  • If a hammer won't fix it, it's probably electrical

I hammered a couple pieces of 1 mm sheet metal, and they became fender lip... No pics of fabrication because I had empty battery in my camera...  :banghead:

I didn´t have time  to finish my welding today. When it´s done there are no spots left...

Do you use an English wheel to form the metal?
