I know right? And I've been really lazy lately and haven't done a darn thing with the car or my vinyl project.

Prafeston

Well I didn't get to the wood grain stuff yet, but I did do this!

Had a heck of a time trying to get the springs pushed down to the farthest hole on the shackle plates. After trying several different things I finally came up with this brilliant idea! :)

Sorry, this one is blurry, but you get the idea.

Yeah it was starting to get dark and apparently I didn't hold still enough for that last photo! :)

Ok, enough with the teasing...here is a HUGE hint as to what the woodgrain is for! :)

I'm currently striping all the crud and paint off of it. Do you think I should prime/paint before putting the vinyl on? My only worry is that I believe you are supposed to use water to help apply the vinyl and having water sitting on the bare metal just doesn't sound like a good idea.

Awhile back I was hoping to buy this set of turbine wheels for TQ and the guy ended up having a more local guy buy them prior to me making it to KC. They guy that bought them however did not want the spare or the center caps so Original seller sold me the spare with the 4 center caps for 20 bucks...a pretty good deal considering most sets of 4 that I've seen of these turbines are going from like 200-300 bucks even if the wheels aren't in great shape.

This wheel isn't in real good shape and while I had the wire wheel out I thought I'd see what it would do on the wheel. Looks like it would clean up real nicely if I went at it for a bit...still need 3 more wheels! :)

You can see along the outer edge and inner edge where I tried cleaning it up with the wire wheel. I also did the one spoke in the center of the pic. Should clean up pretty good. The hard part will be getting the spots between the spokes.

How about wire wheeling the parts that you can get to, and then painting inside the spoke area the body color of your car?   Then you could clear the entire wheel.

Yeah, I don't own an air compressor...so it would be more than what I'd want to invest right now...would require the compressor and media blaster setup. I might see what I can do with dremel and a smaller wire wheel.

You could maybe take the wheels to a shop that does media blasting.  Cost should be pretty reasonable.  Then get the wheels powder coated, although I'm not sure if they can do woodgrain powder coating  :rotfl:

No but you can have them dipped. It's called hydrographics or water transfer printing.
