American parts has about everything except the window channel weatherstrips. Thanks for the reply, this is turning into  quite the hunt. Anybody else have a hard time finding them for the SX4 2dr?

79.95 each side. Maybe somewhat high but you got to have them. I asked if he had anymore and at first he said no but then after some thought he said he may have another set. Ask for Bruce.

Is my 85 wagon door the same size as the 81 sx4?  Or is the sx4 door longer?

2 doors are longer --- and top of door frame was tweaked by AMC on the SX/4's to accomodate the roof slope.  Although all 2 doors MAY use the same weather stripping but do not share with 4 doors.

I know this is an old topic, but I need new window channel weatherstripping for my driver's door. I searched around and found some at AMCRambler that looks like it will work for $30.

So, will the 4 door channel for Hornet, Concord, & Eagle work for my Wagon?

Also, how hard is this to change? It looks like you have to take the door apart and slide the glass out of the way. And is there anything thing extra you have to do to remove the power window regulator, or do you have to remove it at all? (The service manual say it's necessary though).

SXBOB, was yours molded to fit and have the retainer clip thingy?, the ones at AMCRambler don't appear to be molded to fit. But I might just get the generic strip if the other is $80 though...

I didn't remove anything except the door panel (and all the stuff you have to take off to remove it).
I suppose I didn't know any better.
It wasn't easy, but I managed to get it in somehow.  It took lots of pushing and pulling
and leaving some skin inside those tight places, but it finally went in.
I'm glad you posted the source for the channel.  I need some, too.
That seems to be a reasonable price.  I paid more for mine on ebay.

Thanks for the info Jim. It sounds like an afternoon project. I saw it said in the service manual to soak the bottom ends of the stripping in soapy water, so that it slides easier. I might even spray some soapy water on the old too, it may make the job a little easier. I've had the door panel off several times, so that shouldn't be the hard part, but the stripping sounds like it fights back.  I'm gonna change it as soon as I can get it, because the window is rattling a little when going over big bumps now. It was crumbly to begin with, but it tore and separated at the rear corner this morning when putting the window down. I think the window froze to the channel and stuck when I put the window down and just tore. I'm glad I could find new though instead of fussing with an old one in the snow at the junk yard, and for a reasonable price too.

Well, I got my window channel in the mail today, and installed it this afternoon/evening. The old came out pretty easily, it kept crumbling, but eventually slid out. I found that the soapy water really helps. I used over a pint of water in a spray bottle getting the old out and putting the new in. The new channel was really nice quality and fit well in the door, but I think I might have been sent a 2-door channel rubber instead, because it was 3+inches too long, and the cuts for the bends didn't line up for two of the bends. I didn't feel like shipping it back for an exchange since it still fit, and I already had the old one out and didn't have time to wait for another to ship. I got the new to slip in pretty easy with lots of soapy water. I started by slipping the back part in a little lower where the window sits when up, then I rolled the window up so there was some hanging out at the bottom and then just pulled in down through the rest of the way. I did a similar method on the front and tucked the top in. It took about two and a half hours to do, then I washed it while it was in the garage. It was a pretty manageable job, but a little tough working in the tight spaces. Now I'm all ready for the next round of snow we're supposed to get on Sunday here in WV.
