Tootie is Alive - FINALLY!!!!!
« on: April 18, 2016, 10:23:49 AM »
It's been a long journey with a lot of delays, unexpected upgrades and lessons learned.  May I properly introduce to you "Tootie"  My son's 1st Eagle

Just finished up w/ the detailer.  Had to change tire size at the last minute.  Went from 215/75R15 to 205/75R15.  I'm happier w/ the slightly smaller tires and it rides better w/o rubbing.  I didn't want to trim the fenders at all.

Tootie has the nicest interior in the Eagle fleet.  All original and darn near perfect.

New long block H/O 4.0 from a 99 Cherokee, HEI distributor, split header, 99+ intake manifold and of course a 2150 carburetor from GRONK Performance ;D

I did a 1.5" lift all around.  I used new 2" Cherokee leaf springs in the rear and '74 Javelin coils in the front.  I like the way it sits and nothing extreme.  The ride and handling is excellent.  I used new factory shocks w/ extensions.  I will change to longer shocks in the future and utilize the air ride rear suspension.

The exhaust was all done custom locally.  I wanted a true dual but decided on a 2-1 and out the back.

The kiddo loves it and the wife mentioned maybe wanting one herself.   >:D

That's the factory compressor friend.  I used all the components from the 4.2 and installed them on the 4.0.  Made the 4.0 swap easier.

I doubt it.   turned over the keys to him last night.  I have a Jeep Gladiator project to kick off then it's back to working on Bucket.  I learned a lot getting Tootie ready, so Bucket should go a lot quicker.  I have a few ideas on the table too, just don't know if I want to rip apart a 97 Cherokee I have sitting at the shop and make it a donor vehicle for the wagon.

Hey, did you make it to Tri-State this year?  I'm still in the same spot as always.

No I didn't make it this year, for some reason it kind of snuck up on me!  I'll see you there next year!

I see you went with the newer intake manifold on Tootie.  How's that working?

I couldn't be happier w/ the 99+ horseshoe intake.  It worked out great and fit perfect.  I just did one in a YJ too.

I have about 300 of them in stock and it's my new go to w/ the 4.0 head.  I have a split header tucked away under that.

Cool.  And it looks like you were able to keep the power steering pump in there without any problems.  Did you just use the standard bracket to the block?

What did you have to do to fit the 2150 on the TB manifold? Did you cut and weld ? I am working on the same set up and would like to get as nice of a job as you've done there . Beautiful car !!!

Yes.  Standard bracket from the 4.2 setup.  It would be easy enough to make another mounting point but not necessary.

I own GRONK Performance and specialize in the Motorcraft 2100/2150 conversion on all types of vehicles.  Here is a pic of the adapter I designed a few years ago.  It can be rotated in all 4 directions depending on your linkage needs.

Here's a pic on a 99+ "horseshoe" intake

Here's one going on a 97 Jeep Cherokee I did with the "log" intake

These adapters work great.  I have installed them on the 2.5's too with a 2100 series Motorcraft w/ excellent results.

Where did you find the floor mats?  They look like they fit pretty well.

Floor mats are an exact fit and were in it when I bought it.  I'm looking for a new set.  The detailer cleaned them up really nice and got them to look new agail.  I'm really looking for some saddle brown slush guards so the carpet stays safe.
