Hopefully you get some good news and can finish the project.  That would really suck if the engine is bad.

Thanks Brentmo and Vangremlin. I sure hope it works out somehow. Otherwise I guess I'm looking for a new motor :(

I had to go that route myself when the original block in my Kammback cracked.  I was able to pick up a running 258 out of a Jeep for $300.

If you had 30 psi oil pressure and then suddenly had no oil pressure, it's either something catastrophic or as simple(but not easy to fix) as someone forgetting to attach the pickup tube properly to the oil pump and it fell out. Since it was just idling I would lean towards something simple. Good luck, hope they get it figured out without much cost to you.

Well, that car looks awesome on the outside. I hope they can get its innards sorted out for you. If it were mine I'd want to rock that thing all over my pothole riddled town.

Found out the oil was metallic when the changed it so I'm not going to be looking into making this engine work likely. I don't know what to do next. Now I'm just kicking myself for not just originally having the dang thing shipped to me. I just wasted well over 1000 for nothing! And not I'm about to leave the state for several months and won't be able to take the car with me so I'm not sure what my next move is.

Darn! I don't what to tell you. I guess try to get the car to you, if possible, so you can figure it out yourself.

I don't know what the deal is lately, but we've had at least three cars in the last 2 weeks come in for oil changes and the oil looks like a chocolate brown metallic paint.  Your not the only one out there with this issue...

It's bad news. Metallic oil after oil change and so I'm just gonna get it out of the shop. I have two forum members who are going to possibly look into helping with some cheap transportation. I'm waiting to hear back from Casper before I say much else.

sorry to hear about the metallic oil in the sx :(

When you get it in your possession, I would pull the distributor and check the distributor gear and cam gear. I would suspect maybe the oil pump might have locked up and caused damage to your gear.

That would be unfortunate, I'm trying to work something out with casper, but it all depends on the possibility of finding transportation to Eastern Oregon. We'll see what happens.

Sarcasm I hope! :)

Yeah, casper got back to me and it sounds like at this time it's not gonna work out. I am getting some help from a St. Louis member who will be assisting in getting the Eagle back to my place in Rolla where it will likely stay until our seasonal work is over in Utah. :(
