The bumper-mount hitches (Class I) will transfer. I've never seen any other available for the small cars.

The bumper-mount hitches (Class I) will transfer. I've never seen any other available for the small cars.
All class 3 hitches mount the same way and use the same bolt holes on all the Eagles (SX4, wagon, sedan), so they should interchange.

AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Only part number I could find on it was on the load rating sticker. It's a Draw-tite V-5 hitch #01561

That is odd, because the one I have bolts to the same two 1/2" horizontal bolts that hold the bumper (shock?) in, and the 4 bolts (2 on each side) on the bumper mounts.  As far as I know, all the Eagles use the same mounts back there. I can't see why the bolts would be in a different spot on the SX4's and wagons.

That is really odd, mine bolts to the rear sill and bottom of the frame rail.

It's the kind that connects to the subframe under the back of the car.
I would call that one a universal fit, and needs to have holes drilled.  The two I have both bolt in using the factory holes and bolts, with no holes needed to be drilled.

The Class 4 I had was from the Jeep dealer and had a cross brace that attached behind the fuel tank and went from the frame on one side to the other. (you can see the bus I hauled with mine on the previous page)

I would say that ifyour going to haul a heavy item around such as a bus to not overload the brakes.
btw it is easy to overload an eagles brakes.

It's definitely just for Eagles (and maybe Concords/Hornets), but I think the only holes I drilled were to insert nuts because captured nuts weren't there.

It's definitely a Class III, and the Class II factory hitches didn't bolt back to the subframe. I believe it's really a Draw-Tite manufactured item sold by U-Haul.

There were certainly other manufacturers that made them differently, but I don't know of them offhand.
