The temp gauge sending unit is actually a little sensor  that goes into the cylinder head at the back, I mean right up against the bulkhead.  It will be on the driver's side right between the valve cover and the intake manifold and has only one wire going to it.

Yeah, I know about that one. Replaced it a couple weeks ago. I just thought there might be another one because RockAuto shows 2 different types for the 258.

She's ALIVE!!!!!!!!!!!  Had a chance to finish the ignition (TFI) upgrade and fire her up.  Went to turn the key and..... crank, crank, crank, crank, nothing...

Spent 2 hours troubleshooting the N u t t e r bypass, the ICM, the solenoid, rewired EVERYTHING and charged the batterey.

Still nothing...

Highly PO'd, I took a break.  Came out 2 hours later and moved all the plug wires clockwise 1 position.  Turned the key and instant purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...  Ran awesome, no smoke, no ticks, no nothing but sweet music to my ears.

I went home very happy..... ;D

I've already started pulling out the old seats Shanebo.  I think I'm ordering the rubber flooring too this week.  man I'm excited.

Priya, the radio is yours.  Cover shipping and the radio is free.

vangremlin: how right you are Sir.  I was ready to set it on fire when it wouldn't start.  A lot of deep breaths and a lot of swearing.  The crazy thing is is the distributor is WAY off from where it should be.  Someone dropped it in about 3 hours off as the clock turns and I didn't take the time to check the position of #1 contact before I tore into it.  Measure twice and cut once rules apply on cars too.

OK, so my son decided he wanted the aluminum wheels I had set aside for Bucket for Tootie.  No problem.  A quick peek on CL and BAM!

I now have a matched set of 5 black on black steel 15x8 wheels.  This works better for Bucket because I'm planning on running a full/matched spare on the roof rack, or possibly making a swing gate bumper for the rear.

HOPING I can fit some 235 75 15's on Bucket when the lift is done.  I have a set of spacers for the rear wheels ready to go.

I can't wait :blob1:

Here's what I had problems with.  Where do you 'plumb' everything?

as an example:

It would be great if you showed where everything goes, and where it comes from.  I can't tell where venting gases coming from the crankcase to where on the carb,

that small hose below the choke, where does that come from?

And isn't there like two (or three) places on the back of the carb?  one on the Manifold?

I take it you didn't even bother with the EGR, right?

Please show plumbing of this.

The PCV valve on the rear of the valve cober routes DIRECTLY to the PCV port on the Motorcraft 2150.  No "T's" no splits, no nothing else.  Rout directly from the PCV valve to the PCV port (manifold vacuum port on back of carb)

Make sure you have a functional PCV valve.  If unsure, buy a new one (under $5)

The port you marked "where come from" is the ported vacuum source for the distributor advance.  No splits, no "T's" jusr ported vacuum to the diat AFTER base timing and idle have been set.

I do not EVER use the EGR.  I've run both ways, with and with out.  I prefer without.  I am having milled block off plates being made now to replace the EGR all together.

GRONK, any chance you have some of those block off plates?

rohnk

X2 on the plates. With a gasket if you have them.
