A Concord or Spirit is just an Eagle with a limp.... You've got official status by my book!

I've also got mine spread out over four properties within a 5 mile radius. Relative to the whole nation, its all one facility by my standards.

 :rotfl: Eagle with a limp... I got to remember that one.  :rotfl: I wish I had more space... I can only have one vehicle per driver at the place I am at... and my Birds sitting 88 miles away... Very hard to get anything done... Got a new clutch kit waiting for her too. ;-;

So I picked up the new wheels this weekend and they are the lightest wheels I've ever seen.  They are Weld Racing Wheels.  15X8 (Might be 15X7 whick I would be very OK with) I think I definitely scored on this Monster Garage Freebie......

The good thing about yoder is its dry with not alot of vegitation....The perfect environment to stash cars for long periods of time with out the threat of rust....Heck some of those cars sitting in those junk yards out there have been there for 40 years or better and they still have pretty darn good bodies.

Bucket received her new carb last weekend.  I haven't finished the ignition upgrade yet but it felt great to lose all the extra "stuff"

Here's what I started with:

and the pile begins:

I sure do love pulling the Carter's off:

This is the stud removal tool I prefer to remove the studs from the intake manifold.  MUCH easier than the 2 nut/wrench method.  This tool also works great for rounded heads and broken bolts.

Whilst you have the carb off, take the opportunitu to check and tighten ALL of your intake mounting bolts to the head.  I ALWAYS find loose and leaking mounting points:

Starting to look much better under there:

All right, the new (my design) adapter is installed:

I send an isolating gasket with some of my kits (mainly the new ones) so the linkage clears the booster port.  If you receive multiple gaskets from me, this is the orde they are installed:

I ran a test fit and saw my brake booster vacuum source line was making contact with my PCV port on the carb.

A simple adjustment:

And we are good to go:

Here's how it's sitting at this point:

Fuel line hook up:

Bowl vent tube routed and installed:

Everything installed (I used 2 thin air cleaners stacked just 'cause I had them available and they cleared the hood:

I used a 2 wire choke on this one:

Note I grounded it to the firewall:

And that's it folks.  I haven't fired it up yet as I haven't installed the TFI ignition yet.  That will be on my next trip up to see mom.  I did do the N U T T E R bypass as well so I'm ready to roll as soon as I have a little more free time.

Project took about 90 minutes from start to finish (cleanup included)

I noticed that thick looking wire attached to the intake manifold just in front of the carb. Is that one of the temperature sensors? Mine has the piece inside the manifold, but not the wire. Maybe that's why my temp gauge isn't working...

@ Baskinator:  Could be a temp sensor.  I'll check the next time I'm up there.  Usually the temp sensor is on the rear of the intake and has a purple wire.  Might not go to a gauge, might have been a control for the ECM.  I'll investigate more next time I'm under the hood.

Ah, ok. That's probably it then. My car also had a lot of the emissions stuff removed unfortunately(my county requires visual emissions testing) and it's a later model engine, so I have to figure a lot of that stuff out. I just replaced one small temp sensor in the back, but there are 2 different types on RockAuto. One is similar looking to that, and goes into the intake. Thanks!

@ Baskinator: If you need any emissions components, let me know.  I have cases of "stuff" removed from Jeeps and Eagles in the shop.

GRONK, thanks for a little look into the Eagle Motorcraft carb swap. This might come in handy when I'm doing it on Sunday. Bookmarking this page! :)
