Well I got the brakes freed up after soaking them in penetrating oil, removing the master cylinder cover and using a breaker bar to turn the rotor & hub, the driver's side came loose in short order, the passenger side ,well took about 2 weeks of soaking, then a small sledge hammer carefully placed broke that side free, got so excited I tried to push her out myself and put my back out for a bit(its better now),got my step son, nephew and step daughter's boyfriend to help push her out and position her for the next phase.
At this point I'm figuring around 3k to get the old bird roadworthy. The transmission is toast and needs to come out, the driver's side coil spring is broken so new ones will be in order and left at stock hieght, the rear end will be lowered and the radiator is smoked so a new one will be needed and a dent free passenger front door( I backed into it with the Dakota one icy winter day).Smaller tires are going to be acquired as well , and at some point bodywork and paint;timeline....? ;)

Me too;she got sidelined for a bit while I was between jobs and next to no cash flow, but I knew someday I'd regain my footing(started our own business),so I can finally turn my attention back to the garage. I have to say I'm amazed the car is in as good shape as it is,I even had a buddy come over who works on a race car and he wanted to buy it Hahahahaha sorry.Today is raining so I doubt I'll get much done out there, maybe a trip to the parts store though would be a good start.

A rainy day trip to the local parts store netted me 4' of fuel injection hose at 98 cents /foot,then went on a trip to see if I could find one I had seen years ago out in the middle of no where,he still has it,a wagon but now its out against his tree line hmmmm parts car ,maybe if its not totally rusted out by now, that made the trip worth it though( my first sighting in 3 years)

I got the fuel line repaired ,started with the wire brush on the under side, then I figured I'd throw on the 14" rally rim from a junkyard Gremlin, looks good although the tire is tiny in the wheel well with the suspension unsprung on jacks, also started draining the cooling system in an attempt to find my rad. leak,no luck yet
Also went back out to that remote eagle sighting and left the owners son with my biz card ,fingers crossed.

Unless it has changed again since I came up with this, it should work.

Well,I got the upper radiator hose off,the overflow tank and while I was in there the windshield washer res. cleaned em all up.radiator hose and clamps will be replaced soon(too worn) but the overflow tank and washer res cleaned up real nice after a soaking in degreaser then a strong spray of simple green, almost like new. The rad fluid did have some brown/red fluid? mixed in,quite possible the bars stop leak,it solidified in my overflow tank at the bottom 3 inches effectively plugging it and therefore I'm assuming leaving the radiator no purge which would lead it to leak... anyways I'm going back outthis morn before the rain comes and start removing the shroud and fan assembly.I should probably start a new thread in Project cars since she is no longer my dd...

Wow Philotomy!! thats an awesome bird!! Looking at the pics it looks like ya got an auto, is it stock?...how did you connect the kick down rod....I was just thinking about that as I was staring at the old one sitting on the work bench this afternoon....Im looking around for a wire harness now for the computer. You and Tougeagle are the only ones Im aware of that have done the conversion....Its good to know there are atleast 2 Eagles, and maybe more, I can use for reference. I average when it comes to wrenchin' on a car...but when it comes to electrical stuff...sensors, ECM's, computers.....Im way out of my element.

 Thanks Shanebo,
I have to give credit to BigGuy45 for the conversion but I have the paperwork I can make a copy and send to you if that helps, just pm me your address..
My car has a hot wire and toggle "kill" switch for the electric fuel pump,so I get in the car flip the red toggle up,wait a second or two and crank her right over, starts every time. One weak spot is where i wired the connection to the fuel pump, got wet one night and well had to get a tow home.
It is an auto, which I'm working on removing. The kickdown rod I'm about to tackle but haven't seen it yet,it appears to be mounted above the shifter lever on the same post/shaft and mine is loose and the shifter rod connection seems to be rounded off.I did see a spring attached to the trans case, but I'll have to take more pic while I do this project and Ive started a thread on the Project vermonster so I'll be updating stuff there.
