yup, stock carter on there.  tomarrow plains are to install the HEI because today was dedicated to  the valve cover (not by choice).  I ended up getting into the water jackets while tapping the head so i installed studs on the left side and added 2 studs on the right side so that the gasket would stay put while I got the cover on it.

Tomarrow there should be a picture of the completed (for now) engine bay

everything is on that was sitting in the engine pile, haven't road tested it yet.  All that is left is to take the eagle over to my buddy's place to have the plug wires shortened.

Hopefully tonight I can talk my wife into going with me to get some headliner fabric.  tomarrow i will put about 100 miles on it and get the new steering wheel installed and just maybe get the headliner recovered and installed

I need to get a picture of my Eagle in front of the old AMC dealerships in Omaha.  There are 4 former AMC Dealerships.  I know three of the buildings still exist.
Metro Motors Inc., AMC/Jeep/Renault, 808 N. 102nd St. Is in an area where there are still 4-5 dealerships.  I bet the building is still there.  I think this is the dealership that eventually became Metro Mitsubishi.  They recently moved out to West Omaha.  I think Stan Olsen Auto Group owns the building now.

Jim Earp, Jeep, 5500 L St. Turned into Jim Earp Chrysler Jeep.  And usually partnered with his friend Jim Zipke who owned Jim's Dodge Country  It remained that until 2004, I think.  Jim Earp died in 2008.

68117, Motor World Inc., AMC/Renault, 5525 L St. This was right next door to Jim Earp Jeep.  It was taken over by Jim Earp not long after the buyout.  Jim Earp had locations on 55th and L, 50th and L and 84th and L in Omaha during the Chrysler years.  I remember going to Jim Earp back in '84.  I remember seeing Chryslers and AMCs.  He sold Plymouth at the timetoo.  My Dad bought a Plymouth Reliant at that time.

Looks good Bill.  You might want to think about getting the molded front intake hose as that bend is where an older hose likes to collapse.   The molded hose for our cars fits several others too so it is available --- and you cut the straight end to fit.

went to autozone today and got me a breather for the new valve cover (thanks for idea shaggimo).  Also today while looking for the leak that has appeared we found out I have a bad fuel pump that was pumping fuel into the oil.  Well domino effect soon ensued and a new fuel pump turned into a new hard fuel line due to the fitting and the line rusted together and another oil change.  This change i decided to throw all my chips on the table and went straight to 15w 40  motor oil.  Next task at hand is to go through the half mile of vacuum lines and eliminate them.  Gotta get the car ready to possibly take a road trip to Utah here in the next few days or weeks (oldest son's grandfather is in the hospital and not doing so good)

If you head to Utah and need a pitstop give me a holler.  I am sure I'll be around.

Good luck figuring out the vacuum hoses.  That is a headache.  Allend and a few others have eliminated a number of vacuum hoses on their engines.  From what I remember, his ran really well back at Doug's place in '08.
