I bought a 1981 eagle sx4. The tank was out and pretty rusty. Cleaned it up and sealed it. The prior owner said filler neck was in car but it's nowhere. Where can I buy one or will I need to fabricate? Is there another one that is close? Thank you

I don't have one; but here's some info that may help in the search. The AMC part number for the lower fill tube is 3240019.  It fits all '81 and up Spirit and SX/4 models.  It does not include the upper piece (the part that the gas cap goes on).  May be not too hard to make something, as its just a tapered tube with an attachment bracket at the top.

I don't have one but found you can buy the filler neck grommet from American parts depot. Part # 941 4125. https://www.americanpartsdepot.net/FuelExhaust2.htm

As for the hose and cap. You could repurpose a Jeep XJ Cherokee filler neck. I did that on mine when I switched to an XJ tank in my SX4. Although that filler neck has an extra hose for the vent line that is not on the SX4 tank. You could cut it off and weld it up.

Not sure if the SX/4 set up is the same as a Kammback, but I had to get creative to get something to work on my Kammback.  The original fill tube melted into goo.  Ideally, on the Kammback, you need a fuel fill hose that has an inner diameter of 2" up top, and an outside diameter of 2" tp go into the tank.  I found a tapered house on line that had a 2" inner diameter and 1-7/8" outer diameter at the bottom.  Ended up using a short piece of exhaust pipe to go into the tank, and fed the rubber fuel hose into that.

Good luck!

The Kammy tubes are the same as the Gremlin - rubber.  The Spirit & SX's are tin.  But you can surely do what VanG did with a rubber hose!  Might be easier than coming up with a metal one.

The fill neck on my 83 SX4 was rubber. It was clear it was original and had shrunk enough to leak slightly at the connection to the tank.

Interesting!  I was going by the parts books; not real life.  I looked at the book again, and I may be mis-reading it - it doesn't really say rubber or metal; but the graphic looks "metal-ish".   We all know what happens when I "assume"!
