To be honest I don't know much about working on cars. So my engine isn't starting but will crank. I'll post some pictures of some things that are out of place but I don't really know what's important. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you.

With the air cleaner off and you open the throttle plates by hand can you see fuel squirt into the ventures? If you take off the coil wire at  the distributer and crank engine over do you get spark when you hold it close to the block?

Definitely check for spark, and fuel into the carburetor. If I recall the greenish wire I see in your photos is for the electric choke.

The choke wire is dark blue, and on the other side of the engine.  That dark green one on the passenger side is for to the ignition coil, with the spade terminal offshoot going to the tach.  Or nowhere if you have a clock in the dash.  The light blue one in the first two images doesn't look like it needs to be there.  There's really no need to ground the carb like that unless the choke isn't grounding for some reason.  There is a light blue wire going from the starter solenoid to the neutral safety switch, but if that wasn't hooked up I don't think it would turn over.

If you have some starting fluid or even brake cleaner, give it a quick squirt and see if it tries to run.
