Not a bad price. Wish I had the funds to stock up and resell later.

The only issue I have with RockAuto is they won't ship to Colorado.

Are they still refusing to ship to CO?  I was hoping they'd have wised up and realize there are a lot of customers here that would like to buy from them!

well I assume they still ship to Wisconsin. give a heads up up if I need to be a send to point. I mean double shipping would suck. but I would resend if needed.

Thanks for the offer mudkicker but my girlfriend lives in Iowa so I can just have them shipped there if need be.

Maddog,

Did you ever get the kit from RockAuto and use it?

I'm asking because I bought a couple of the kits (part number Lucas SP5902) and took my Eagle to a local transmission shop to rebuild my clutch master cylinder, and they say the parts don't fit!  I don't know who to believe.

Can anyone shed any light?  I would rather just replace the master cylinder, but I was unable to find one anywhere, so the rebuild kit was a last resort.  Any tips on finding a replacement master cylinder, or the right rebuild kit, would be much appreciated...

No I never did get one as I still can't get the master cylinder apart. :banghead: I have found out though that the company that made the ones that originally came in our Eagles is still around but since they are located in jolly ol' England it's been kinda hard to get ahold of them.

Yeah, it looked like a real PITA to get to, that's why I went to a transmission shop to have it done.

If you can share what you know about the British manufacturer of the original part, I'll try to get to them also.  Maybe we can double-team them...

The name of the company is Girling and the part number for the clutch master cylinder is 74660674 BS2. I am using a smartphone to go to their website and I don't know if it's the same on computers but for me it's kind of glitchy, but I think I managed to send in an inquiry on their website which is girlingauto.com as I have yet to find a phone number for them.

I visited that site via Firefox on my desktop computer, and it is indeed royally screwed up.  It seems to be in an endless loop trying to refresh itself and reload something.  Pretty much unusable.

I hammered away clicking on things, trying to catch it between the interruptions, and managed to find a link to this site for their products: https://www.showmetheparts.com/trw/, which does show a few parts for AMC Eagles.  Unfortunately, it only lists a few brake and suspension parts; nothing for the clutch.

I don't have much hope that you'll get a reply to your inquiry.  If their web site is that wacko and they haven't done anything about it, there probably isn't anyone from IT reading the mail, either.

I'm going to stop piggybacking on your post and start a new one regarding the whole clutch master cylinder problem.  Maybe we'll flush out some new solutions or possibilities.

I've had to quit driving my Eagle because of the flaky clutch.  It has abandoned me far from home twice now, and I'm too old to deal with that crap.

In maddog's original post, I assume the request was about his '80 Eagle.   If the car is a 6-cylinder, then the correct part number for the rebuild kit is J8132911.   Crown offers them for about $20.   Search on that part number, and they'll pop up.   Note that different years and engines have different part numbers.

My Eagle is indeed an 80 but the master cylinder came out of a different year and I'm not sure what year it was. ::)
