I have an 86 Eagle wagon with a 6 cylinder and auto transmission. It has sat since I bought it 8 years ago. I have started a restoration and find that most of the electrical systems don't work. There is no power in the fuse box, none of the lights work, fan doesn't work, the warning chime seems to be signally something, the temperature gauge and fuel gauge climb to max when the key is turned and a couple of the light gauges come on. However, the starter works and the engine starts. The wiring all seems to be in good shape. I removed the fuse panel and its seems to be fine. I don't see any mouse damage. I read somewhere that at some point car manufactures made a switch from a bundle of wires going through the fire wall to an interface. The interface is basically is a monster electrical plug between the engine compartment and the car's interior. This 86 appears to have one because it looks different than earlier year models that I have. I read the connections on the plugs on the interface corrode and cause disconnect problems as cars age. The interface sits behind the power brake canister and, of course, is not easy to get at.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
