My lifted 81 SX4
« on: May 09, 2018, 11:13:15 PM »
I have had this SX4 for many years. It has 2" lift and 31" BFG mud terrains. Had to do some trimming on the front fenders because of the size of tire I chose. Did the front with longer coils and they are pretty stiff but rides ok. This is it at a local Sunday car show where our AMC club was the featured club.

Thanks,  :occasion14: it's one of my pride and joys. Don't see many SX4s around here. It always generates lots of conversation where ever we go with it.

Yes that is a great looking SX4.  Fact is, you won't see an Eagle around anywhere nowadays.  I have not seen one  on the road, or parked in years.....Rich

We actually have a pretty active AMC community here, so we have a pretty good number of them still being used. That and we get 5 months of the white fluffy stuff here. Having a decent 4x4 is a plus. There are lots of them sitting in backyards and such as well, but there seems to be more of them coming back onto the market as of late.Lots of younger "enthusiasts" getting into the car scene and looking for something different than your usual Camaro or Mustang.

Very cool, and good to hear about so many AMC's still in use up there.  I had to do a double take, I thought maybe you had installed some white globe lights on the roof   :rotfl:

That's funny I never noticed that in the picture before. I can see why you would be scratching your head as to why I would do that. I picked up another 81 SX4 today. It's a 4 cyl. w/5 spd. It's really rusty but spare parts are never a bad thing. I'l post a couple of pics when I get a chance to snap some tomorrow.
