I'm rebuilding the clutch in my 82 AMC Eagle SX/4 Sport, 5 speed, inline 6, 258. I was hoping to get some recommendations on what clutch kit to use and what Flywheel. Also, where to get them. I've been on rockauto.com and a few other places but I'm unsure what the best option is.
Any advice would be awesome.

Thanks in advance.

hi,your flywheel should be fine, just have it resurfaced, and if the teeth on your ring gear show excessive wear, have a new ring gear pressed on. For my last clutch purchase, I just used the "Carquest" brand from Advance auto, though I'm sure there are more expensive ones out there. good luck, gz

Is one brand better then the other? I'm not looking to pay an arm and a leg but I don't want to just get the cheapest thing out there either. Quality matters, and I'm assuming not all kits are made equally. What should a kit include if I'm looking to do a complete rebuild?

As for the flywheel, the plan is to have it resurfaced, but in the case it cant be, I can't seem to find a complete Flywheel. Only parts like the ring gear for example. My goal is to do a complete overhaul on this car. I don't want to half a$$ it if you know what I mean. So I'm trying to get parts lined out in advance, so I know whats available and whats not.

Thanks again. :)
