red and black vac lines back of intake
« on: January 26, 2017, 10:48:07 PM »
Hello
Previous owner has tape on the vac fitting rear of intake going into dash.
90 degree fitting,,two lines,black and red.
The car is a 1987 A.C.
I am guessing the red line is for heater A.C. controls?
Black is for the switch on the fly 4x4 switch?
I would like to make this a single fitting just for the 4x4 switch.
Thanks for the help,,,my head doesnt fit inside the dash, lol!

hi, the vac switch for the 4x4 system has 3 hard vac lines to it, green/yellow/red. the hard black vac line is the feed for the axle disconnect motors. gz

The fitting with the two vac lines rear of intake maybe leaking.
I will unwrap the tape from p.o. and see what i find.
Probably replace them after they crumble in my fingers.
I only see a red and black line,no yellow, maybe i am missing something?
Where does the vac come from on engine for dash controls/a.c.?
The only vac lines i see going threw cowl is the two mentioned above.
I did have the dash apart yrs ago but dont remember if there was vac lines in there?
Thanks for the help!!!

Thanks for the vac pics!
I see the storage tank, dont know where it is on car?
Inside dash?
The line to storage tank must be the red line on back of intake?
I am only going to fix a taped up fitting,no problems with 4x4.
Just curious where the vac for dash/A.C. is coming from if there is any?
Will be taking off the A.C. when i find a dual fan pulley and bracket for Alt.
