Here are some recent photos of a 1985 Inaugural Edtion Eagle including views of the unique ID plate mounted on the glove box door, the keyless entry receiver module between the sun visors and the bottom portion of the build sheet.

Looks like they were using the AMC Renault keyless entry -- had the same one in a '84 Alliance.  Thanks much for the extra pix.

Kratons: What you put in salads. Oh, wait, those are "croutons." ;D  Kratons are the flexible parts that are the bumper extensions, the fender flares, and flexible rocker trim.  Kraton is also the material they were made out of.
Yes, the Keyless Entry was the same as in Renaults. At the CT AMO show, (where the Inaugural car was,) I was talking w/ a former AMC Zone Manager, about my new SX-4 w/ Keyless Entry, and he said it was the Renault item.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us an Eagle

Kraton was a plastic produced by AMC's plastics subsidary' although I think Shell actually held the patent.  Few people know AMC did their own plastic work.

It was a Renault unit.  AMC put it in their cars when they started putting them in the Alliances they were building.  One of the service information bulletins I just put in the Eaglepedia talks about it.

Really nice pics! What exactly does it mean that it inaugural? In car lingo that is...

Also... if I already have power locks... whats would it take to make it keyless? I suppose I could just take it up to the shop that does the remote start stuff... im sure they could do it.
Its got style... its got class...
It goes the extra mile... and still kicks @ss.

Probably in the high $15K range.  Ironically, they were built in Brampton, Ontario.
