Transmission Dipstick
« on: July 18, 2015, 10:27:12 AM »
Can someone measure their dipstick? I changed mine to an XJ stick (after I lost mine), and I have begun to have a feeling they may be different. Thanks!
My list of my cars/toys (or toys at my disposal!)

1985 AMC Eagle Sportwagon
2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic
1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
2016 Triumph Bonneville
 1962 Cruisers Inc Mahogany Outboard

I like to to tell people my Eagle is like a Ferrari. It's quirky, tempermental, border-line exotic, and something you don't see everyday.  See? Makes perfect sense....

From the bottom of the handle tube (where the dip stick attaches to the handle ) to the full mark is 28 " . The add mark is 3/4" below that.

I'm sorry , the above post is wrong. I measured a different tranny stick. The 998 dip stick is 16 1/4" from the full mark to the washer at the handle . The add 1 pint is 5/8" below that . Again I'm sorry hope that didn't screw you up.
