« on: November 29, 2014, 09:27:43 AM »
Hi, again,

Does anybody have photos of a clutch master cylinder.
I'm on the hunt for one and curious to know what I'm looking for if I see one.

Not sure if this picture will attach but if it does,
Is this one?

Thanks to all, a realy great forum

Doesn't look like the one I had on my 81 Eagle. They have a remote reservoir.

Do you have a picture of the remote reservoir?

Anybody else?

Wondering is there only one style used in the eagles?

Not all eagles had a reservoir. Some only had a tube to act as a reservoir.

I'm guessing the eagles with resevoirs had remote reservoirs.

I'm trying to so a auto to manual conversion so I don't know exactly what I'm looking for.

I have someone searching their eagle parts collection but again I wouldn't know one if it bit me at this point.
Thanks for the input though, any information is very helpful

Thanks

According to the parts books, only some (not all) 80-82 had a little reservoir thingie.   All others just had a tube with a vent cap that acted as the reservoir.   It would be easy to rig up a little import reservoir tho; one for an old Fiat X1/9 would be perfect (don't ask how I know about those!!    :banghead:)

The way that setup looks, I wonder if an XJ clutch master would work? 84-86 are horizontal bolt pattern which would tilt the master right (in the pic) and '87 up are vertical, which would tilt it left. I have one of the two in my collection (I put a new one on my '86 truck just before I sold it or it could be the old one from my '87 when I converted to auto)
There was a Toyota one that was angled, but I can't recall what it was in now.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Here's the current question;

There is an old thread here....

http://forums.amceaglesden.com/index.php?topic=42307.msg329742;topicseen#msg329742

It says that a  Dorman CM39516 master
Clutch cylinder can be used for an sx/4

And and eagle ?????

There is another that shows the mock up of a resivor system

http://forums1.amceaglesden.com/index.php?topic=37296.0

I'm going to try it and hope it works

Any input is appriciate

I'm very excited and will start a build thread soon

Thanks to all
