Just went and topped off the tank in the 85, get it home and somebody pointed out that it is leaking fuel. There is a very small drip which appears to be coming from the top of the tank near the front by the axle. Can't even see the drip but the grime underneath is wet. Tank isn't really all that rusty and the fuel lines appear to be very good. is there any sort of gasket at the sending unit?

When mine leaked, it was from rust pinholes that formed on top of the seam. Crud had built up there and kept the area moist.

AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Thinking that's what the issue is here on this one, there is all sorts of crud on top of where the moist area is.
