Dark green wire with the insulated sleeve connects to the electric choke, at least in 82. It should have battery voltage when the engine has oil pressure.

Thank you for that information.
Choke wire that must be. There is a replacement carb, so it was not attached. Never occured to me.

Started to work with right front fender.
Sanded that epoxy down a little... I noticed some issues, because someone had used grinder to remove old paint/ rust/dents once... in Swizerland...

Had to ad some filler to make surface flawless. I replaced before that front corner of original fender using a piece of my crashed Concord. There were about quarter of an inch bondo all over this fender, because of that dented front corner.  :o

Finished and primered. Did some holes for fender flare...

The better fender needs some attention too.
One unfinished dent reparation... Finished that one.

An unfinished welding job.

This bracket had an odd shape, so needed to fix it.

My own mistake... made this corner repair 2 cm too short... 3/4 inch.

Finished that one.

And this...

And then that corner, now in right measure.

Started to finish rear hatch.

Left that locking screw area untouched.

Cut that bad rust away.

Testing...

Start...

Done...

Outside looks fine.

There were a couple of odd dents here.

Painted this repair area inside of the hatch. Not an easy task... But now it is done.

to be continued....

Some epoxy primer...

And then some semigloss black paint.

Fenders got some surfacer paint and after that I test fitted those.

I used duct tape to seal gaps... and rest of tape is still there.

Removed those fiber glass moldings..

There were a lot of dirt under moldings, but not any rust. Jesh!

Right rear quarter had some bad bondo, so I replaced it with new...

Removed rear bumper.

Behind of it, there were som dirt and.... this...

Long lost radio antenna...

Rubber lip was in very sad condition.

Test fitted "new" one.

"New" one had some issues...

Flaking off

This was great fun...

Doors have had some kisses...

Something had happened here. Much bigger damage than just a kiss...

Used schrinking disc to fix this area.

Front valance needed some attention. They have used a alot of bondo in swiss body shop. About a quarter of an inch...

They had bondoed this in side too!

Look mom, no bondo!

After some "hammer and dolly time", it was time to add some filler.
I had two of these under repair at the same time. The other is for my Concord.

And then some epoxy...

Takakulmaa vielä piti hieman hioa, että sai liian pakkelin pois. Ja sitten illan päätteeksi vedin epoksia pintaan. Ihan kohtalaisia tuli...
I removed paint out of bumpers. Cleaned those and fixed damaged areas and added some epoxy. And painted rear quarter with epoxy at the same time.

Doors got some filler too.

Front is coming together.

Black paint removed...

In the middle of drivers door there were some bondo under the "factory paint"... Some repair done in early life, I think...

My son needed garage (again), so Eagle needed some weatherproofing, ie epoxy primer...

During that I went to my friend, who happens to be a car painter...

I had to fix everything for paint.
There were som sun kissed lacquer, It was very hard to take off.

Final fillers...

.
Some interesting info of this car...

Ready for surfacer...

Finally I got some painted...

Leaving home...

To a paint shop...

And now it has a new silver paint on.

Back to home.

Today was time to continue paint job.

This plastic piece needed some filler, so I bought Mipa Multifiller and sprayed a thick layer.

Some sanding and then silver paint...

I had a wheelproject during springtime... Tried to buy white letter tires in reasonable price... And I found out that every wheelcover was broken... What to do?

I knew that here in Finland is only one wheelcover set that is not in use... My friend had one and it was not for sale... and guess what? He sold those to me!

Here are old and "new ones"...

Center caps removed and here are four best ones.

Cleanned and repaired stainless "trim rings" and then it was time to spread some bondo...

After some sanding...

...and paint.

And what about those White letter tires... Here you are, a set of 205/60-15 BFG and fresh powdercoated original wheels...

This year it was not easy to find letter tires and price was high..  :P

New bumper filler needed some attention. Removed all of the old paint...

And then a fresh coat of multifiller paint.

Then some silver...

New rivets and screws... and ready to rock!

Wheather cooled a little bit, so it was possble to continue... Started to fix those black parts.

Bumpers.

Left side headlight bezel was broken, so I fixed it...

Hood molding had a lot of pits, so something had to be done... Metal filler was not enough.

So I had to use grinder and open all pitted areas and then some metal filler.

This was a success. Then some primer.

And finally it was time to add some semi-gloss black aint...

But this was no success... paint was too gloss... So try again some day.

Door gaps and door pillars needes some attention... There were some hits of window frames...

Frontside.

Backside

Drivers side had a bigger damage, because door had beed out of alignment for a longer time...
And both pillars had some marks of somekind of knife or such. Someone had removed "Rauchen verboten" or "no smoking" stickers...

Sanding and painting, and it turned to be good...

Some progress...

These panels are now silk gloss and much better...

Some of the fasteners had some damage, so I couldn´t fix all of the moldings.

Sills got some silk gloss paint and rear hatch area got some silver...

Then it was time to fix fender flares. Front pair is from my other sport Eagle... and not so good any more... One rear flare is like a new one. and the other had been painted poorly.

There was a major damage that needed some TLC-treatment.

Last saturday was a busy day. I fixed tail gate seal. Used old one, it had some issues, but it is now good to go. Lights, lock and many other items found their places.

Fender flares needed some attention. This was the worst... more hot air and pressure and putty needed...

At this point I remembered those bumper ends and bumper guards... they need some black aint too...
Front bumper parts were in good condition, just removed spary paint out of those. Easy job...

But there were rear bumper parts...

Parts car had these, but nuts were so rusty I could not use those...

Tried to fix with hot air and pressure, no good...

So a little bit sanding and putty...

Smootihing it.

And the other side too...

Metal parts in side of thos rear guards were very rusted, front ones were in mint condition.

Rust had made center part almost 6mm (1/4") higher than rest of the part.

Removed rubber with grinder. Parts were easy to remove aftre that.

Sand blasted metal arts and welded a new bolt. Removed all rust and made space for the putty...

Used vise to press parts together and then filled outer cavity.

Job done. Now I let these all to dry for a week or so...
