Old heat shield was almost gone... Made a new one.

Fits like a glove.

Power steering pump had a hit...

Remembered that I had an other one. It is from my -80 Concord. Cleaned and painted looks like new.

I did take that sloppy steering gear out and new one is here with it...

That "new" steering gear is already in its location.

Air cleaner needed modification. Used original air cleaner box and an inner part of chrome cleaner...

Pieces needed schrinker/stretcher and hammer and dolly...

Spotwelded them together. It needed again hammer and dolly to fit...

Painted it.

Radiator needed som attention... It was very dirty and there was a short piece of trans cooler line stuck and a rusted bolt. Lower hose  had a lot of under coating stuff on it... But I got everything done in one evening.
I bought NOS hose clamps.

Radiator core had oily dirt, but some brake cleaner and a lot of air did clean it.
There were a lot of rust on both brackets, so I removed those.

Sand blasted and painted

Asesembled all and then some paint.

There are some parts waiting...

Radiator is on its place.. Had  new fuel filter, but it dosen´t fit with Motorcraft carb. A Mopar part is smaller, so I ordered one.

Steering arm is now with a "new" steering gear. Now there is not any loose movement.  And "new" trans oil cooler lines are fitted, they were bent, but I managed to reshape them.

Water hoses are there with correct hose clamps, I got originals thru local seller.  Cleaned and painted power steering pump and new v-belts went in.

An original, but cleaned starter.

It is time to start again.
I had my SCRambler replica in a local Hot Rod Show... I will not need so much attention now.

There were a real deal too. This is probably first SCRambler in Europe. We had a Rambler Dealer Stand there...

The white may go to the A/C compressor. The green one connects to another wire somewhere.

Green wire is the most mysterious... There is no suitable connector anywhere... I can see it in very old pictures resting over engine, but can´t see it connected... darn.

Something done... I did an engine cleaning process... Drained oil and using diesel fuel instead of motor oil got out a lot of black matter... Did this three times. Now there is oil again... Going to change it once more. Engine runs now much better, no ticking sound from lifters or rockers at all.

After that Eagle flew out of its nest to rest...

Next is time to repair rear hatch and paint the whole car...

Glad to read you're able to spend some time on the Silver Beast!  Will it remain silver or will it have to get a new name?  Juhap and welding just go together like peanut butter and jelly  :rotfl:

Look what I found...

Cutting a little.

..more fun...

Some new metal.

First repair patch needed cutting, streching and shrinking...

First two pieces welded.

Almost done... one more needed.

"Will it remain silver or will it have to get a new name?" It´ll be silver again... but I´m not sure about that "beast"... Cannot change that title, because Hornet RWB started this topic...
