Been a long time. Lots have happened since I last found y'all. I'm Eagle'less now. Divorced, and just kind of getting by day to day. One of my daughters said something today about maybe I needed to find another Eagle to work on, and that reminded me of y'all. You are harder to find now. Man, seems like forever, but seems like home. I had the starts of a Republic of Texas Eagle sanctuary at one time. Had an 80 sedan, a kammback, the wagon I lifted, the Okie SX4 I rebuilt, another SX4, and lots of parts. All that fell apart as all the divorce stuff started happening. I sold the SX4 to a local young couple, and the wagon and all parts to a guy from west Tx, to use in a hunting operation way out in the sticks of west Tx. Had to sell the 68 panel wagon to pay lawyer bills, but I'm starting to get my head above water again and feeling the need to play with some eagles again. No money, but I do have a place to store and work on Eagles. My kids are now  almost 17, 15, and 13, and all enjoy our time playing with Eagles together. 2 had wanted to have Eagles as first cars. While this won't happen, I'm thinking it may be time to start the Republic of Texas Eagle sanctuary again.I have NO Eagles, and NO parts, but I do have 5 acres of non-city, un-zoned space available, and every other weekend of parts removing kid love-labor. I miss that kammback. Hope all are well.

Jack,  Good to see you are back.  I too am Eagleless or rather don't have a driveable one.  The front differential died and I can't find a replacement 3.07 for it. You still have any contacts?

if you are interested I have a wagon that I picked up in Montana a while back. I currently have no plans for it. I was going to use it as a parts car and have taken a few small parts off it. I am sure we could figure something out. I just hate seeing a grown man without a eagle ;) I am in SE Wyoming. let me know if you are interested. if you want some pics let me know.  thanks, LAZ

Dangit. Just not meant to be. My 15 yr old daughter has a 60's jones for her first car/truck. Guess I'll be looking that way for a while. I'm feeling empty with no Eagles, and am here in spirit with ya'll. I'll be checking in from time to time. Best of luck to all and God bless all of ya'll.

Well....cool news, though not Eagle related. My daughter and I spent a sat. looking at old cars and trucks, alas, no Eagles in the mix. A buddy called me and said he had an old 71 super beetle sitting under a tree. He and I used to buzz up and down the county roads in the middle of no-where in that thing. It just died on him one night, thinks alternator and battery. He just gave us the thing, and said "good luck". Free is in my price range. How cool is that?

That is way cool.  I bet it is a bright color like red or orange or yellow, or maybe lime green.  Those colors were popular in those years.  The Super Beetle's are getting pretty rare, and it sounds like a keeper......Rich

been awhile again, I know. The bug used to be a bright red, interior still is. It's been rattle canned a few times outside, and is in various states of primer black and gray, but has 4 original hub-caps, some new rubber seals for windows, and a rats nest in the engine compartment that would make any neglected Eagle proud. Hope all are well.
