Shock brand

Hello everyone,

Lately my Concord has been making a noise every time I hit a bump. Yesterday I figured out that my right rear shock broke and is not connected on the top. So I'm in need of new shocks. What brand do you guys recommend. I currently have Monroe all around that were put in probably 5 years ago, and they seem to be of poor quality. What are your opinions. RockAuto has some KYB brand listed, and they are offering a good rebate when you buy 4, so as of now I'm leaning in that directions. Any thoughts on KYB?

I've seen that deal RockAuto is offering also.  KYB makes a good shock, I'm probably going to pick up a set myself.

Did you get the standard "GR2" model, or the upgraded "Gas-a-Just" model?

I went with the Gas-a-Just, KG5522 and KG4505

I put KYB Gas-a-Just on all four corners a few years ago after I rebuilt my suspension.
They help the ride and handling a good deal.
They adjust themselves depending on road condition, and usually do a good job at it too.

Thanks everyone for the info. I ordered the Gas-a-justs for the fronts, and the GR2 for the back, they didn't have gas-a-justs for the rear listed for a Concord.

Ok, so I got the kyb shocks in the mail the other day and finally got around to installing them. I have a dumb question though, in the package they sent me they have 2 nuts for the top of each rear shock. So are they both supposed to go on the same side of the bracket to keep the one from falling off? Like pictured? I can't really see a reason to put the 1 nut on the other side of the bottom of the bracket.

KYB's really handle my Eagle well! Little ,very little stiffer, but nicer handling. Very pleased!

yes just like you have it. they gave you two so that the nuts don't accidentally come off due to vibrations.

Yeah, a thin nut is just a jamb nut. The top nut isn't supposed to over compress the rubber so the jamb nut keeps everything from getting loose.

Forgot to update this earlier, I got all the new shocks installed, and am very pleased with the ride quality. Big improvement from before hand, although, that's not saying a whole lot considering one front shock was totally useless, and one rear one disconnected.
