Stopping by to introduce myself and my Eagle
« on: March 20, 2014, 09:24:34 PM »
 :eaglebig:

Hello there,

My name is April and I am the proud owner of a 1988 AMC EAGLE wagon (the dmv calls it an EAGLE EAGLE). I have been lurking on here for a couple weeks trying to  figure out some vacuum issues, and I will have to say...THANK YOU!!! My car is 100% original. I have wanted an AMC Eagle since I was little. I thought they were the coolest thing ever sooooo when I found this diamond in the rough for $550 I had to have it! She squeeks a little, actually a lot! One of the first things I had to do was change the valve cover gasket. What a nightmare lol. I look forward to learning a lot more from this site. This site helped me find a door handle, ECM Test bypass, and carb upgrades (still in the process). Again thank you for being such a great and informative forum.

Welcome April.  Have you found the AMC Eaglepedia yet?  It is full of information and one of these days there will be more.  So, did you put a new valve cover gasket under the original plastic valve cover?  If so, not to say you did anything wrong, but it will leak again.  Those covers were a problem back in the day and are more so now.

Welcome, April :occasion14:

You haven't stated where you are. If you're close by you may want to consider attending the Eagle Motel event in October. The event consists of a tour of the Rambler Ranch in Elizabeth, Colorado followed by a drive to Colorado Springs where we will spend the night at the Eagle Motel. More information is in this thread: http://forums.amceaglesden.com/index.php?topic=43018.0. :eagle:

You can also fill out the SOAR Database form and mark your location on the Eagle map! :)

Thanks for letting  me know about SOAR. I am in South St. Paul, Mn. so unfortunately I would not see myself being able to attend one for a couple years. I plan on getting her in a condition where she can take road trips though. These cars were made to be driven.
