Starter solenoid hook up
« on: March 09, 2014, 12:52:23 PM »
I don't know if the PO hooked it up right, the car won't turn over. In my effort to track down the prob, can someone pleez post a pic of theirs, perhaps even labeling the wires? Mine is a 88, the closer the better.

Thanks in advance,
Brant

Is the neutral safety wire hooked up.  It goes on that stud on the bottom of the solenoid.

A wire hanging from what?  The starter solenoid of the NSS?

It depends which style of starter it has. Ford style has a fender mounted solenoid and the XJ style one is on the starter itself.
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!
