Also it's hard to tell but is that the factory yellow or tan exterior?

If you look at the 6th picture, you can see a bit of the fender in the engine bay, and the lip of it is a different color. 

Its factory yellow.

Ahhh I see it now. I kept looking at the pics of it from the side!

So it was the yellow from the factory and it just got a repaint huh? Very cool. Love that yellow!

Yesterday I picked up some new used wheels and tires for the coupe.  They are jeep canyon wheels, and I picked up a set of 215/70R15 tires to go with them.  Pics are below.  I should be able to go out to the Rambler Ranch this weekend, put some necessary parts back on the car like the headlight bezels, front turn signals, and marker lights, along with the new wheels and tires, and bring her home!

Those might stick out a bit. Those are the deeper dish Canyon wheels. I like that style though.

I saw the pictures of them on Amc1320's car and thought they looked really good.  Plus they are readily available and cheap lol.  They have a pretty high backspacing so hopefully they don't stick out too far.

I hate to poop on your parade, but I think those are the wrong wheels. Jeep made two very similar Canyon wheels, the ones that came on the ZJ did not have as deep a inside measurement and the center caps did not say Jeep. The ones that went on the TJ had wider spokes and a deeper inside measurement and the center caps said Jeep.

Those may work, but they aren't the same ones you've probably seen on a couple Eagles on the Forum.

mine came off a Wrangler, 2002 I think, although it was in junkyard and I cant say if they were original to the jeep or not

They do not say Jeep on the centercaps, they do stick out more than the stock wheels but I like the wider stance look. I did add a  1" wheel spacer to the rear ones to allow for the center cap to go over the axle nut

Hey, don't be poopin on my bird before I even get it home 

So I did some research before buying the wheels

1) I talked with Amc1320, confirmed that his were 15x8 with same tire size I ended up with.  He said he had a slight tire rub under some circumstances, which he fixed with a pocket knife.

2)  Looked on the jeep forums, and learned about the 2 different style wheels.  The older wheels weren't known as Canyon wheels at the time and IIRC were called sport wheels as they were part of a sport package.  Those wheels are 15x7 with 5.25" backspacing.  These are the same dimensions as the teardrop wheels  I used to have on Pepe.

3) The newer Canyon wheels are 15x8, with a 5.5" backspacing.  So these wheels/tires should extend 0.25" more inward, and 0.75" outward.

I'm not positive I'll like the look on the new coupe.  At this point, I've got $100 invested in the wheels, and $200 in the tires, including mounting and balancing.  Worst comes to worst, I'll swap to different wheels, sell the Canyons for at least $100, and only be out the cost to remount the tires.  Heck, I could just sell the center caps off the Canyons and almost recoup my money - have you seen what those things are going for on ebay?  I think its a pretty low risk situation, but since they works on Amc1320's Eagle, I'm pretty confident they'll work on mine.

Yeah, just wanted to make sure you knew which ones you were getting. I hope the work. Sounds like you really don't have much money tied into them so no harm done if they just don't fit.

Thanks again.  I didn't know about the older style until I started looking into the wheels further.  Those would probably work better with an Eagle, but they don't seem as available as the newer ones.  Hopefully I'll have them on the car this weekend!

I went to the DMV today, and got my new title and temporary tag, all in less than 10 minutes!!!  No waiting at all.  I now have 2 months to get my emissions test done in order to get my permanent plates.  My car is more than 31 years old, so it qualifies for collector plates, although I'll have to get an emissions test every 5 years.
