Haha, nice! A play off my SX/4! The color isn't quite the penny color. Gold Digger suites her well! I thought about calling my old wagon the Polished Turd! :) It was a sparkling Brown color! I called it TQ though for Trailer Queen.

You will have to tell us all about her.  Does the plastic valve cover leak?  I am jealous.

You know I think it does.  The description said there is an oil leak "possibly the rear main"  I bet a dollar it is the valve cover that is leaking oil down the back of the engine.  A quick look might think it is the rear main.

I like the AM only radio.  Those must be pretty rare!

AM radios were pretty common.  I agree, it could be the valve cover rather than the rear main.

When I read about the oil leak, I knew that these valve covers are notorious for leaking and I figured it was worth the chance anyway.  If I had to pay a shop to do the work maybe not.  But I do all my own mechanic work so, cheap part, and some time.

The car has been driven weekly since new, has never been just parked.  And with 45k miles the rear main seal is not a likely candidate for the leak.  What I will have to look for is sludge in the engine.  The previous owner just used it to run weekly errands so if he did short trips and didn't bring the engine up to operating temp for long enough periods, there could be some condensation sludge in the motor.  But I know how to take care of that.
