What a difference new shocks/springs make....
« on: November 09, 2013, 09:50:13 AM »
So, I was browsing some of the older posts on here and found this picture of my car Pre-Wreck:

It made me realize how low my car was actually sitting prior to new springs and shocks.  Here it is now (please excuse my low-hanging exhaust):
My list of my cars/toys (or toys at my disposal!)

1985 AMC Eagle Sportwagon
2017 Mercedes-Benz C300 4Matic
1993 Mercedes-Benz 500SL
2016 Triumph Bonneville
 1962 Cruisers Inc Mahogany Outboard

I like to to tell people my Eagle is like a Ferrari. It's quirky, tempermental, border-line exotic, and something you don't see everyday.  See? Makes perfect sense....

You would have to ask CaptSpillane; he did all the work for me. I believe that he had the rear leaves custom made, but I do not recall where the front coils came from.

I got two sets of leafs for comparison. One had slightly different specs but the difference isn't actually important.

Your wagon has the stock specs in the rear and Raysbestos 5851077 front coil springs. They're the heavier wire purchased off Rockauto listings for Javelins. Your old rear leafs were cracked and broken and one of the front coils were broken in half. The only intact spring was in bad shape too.
