Before and After
« on: November 06, 2013, 02:32:48 PM »
We found this concord on CL , belonged to an older couple, interior was very nice and the engine runs great. Had very little mechanical work to do, brakes, shocks and a tune up.

But it had sat outside for a long time, no rust but the paint was faded out, and a tree had dented the front fender.

We added a new fender from our parts spirit and went ahead and swapped the bulge hood too. It really turned out to be a pretty cool ride in the end in my opinion. This one came out nice!

Wow...a Concord I actually like. That's hard to do!

Spirit grill looks good on there. And of course it's gorgeous in Black!

Its amazing how a color change to Black really makes that beautiful Concord stand out!

Did they ever offer the Concord in black? It looks so good! I for the most part hate the dull colors AMC used and all the dang variations of brown...except in correlation with the woodies!

Yup,  "Classic Black".  There is a nice shot of four door model in that color along with an AMX in the '79 brochure.

Even though the 2 doors had best looking vinyl roof (IMO) it looks better without it.

Yeah we went with black, rattle canned the door jambs and bottom of the trunk and hood.

Thanks to Dave we can now open the door!

I don't know why there weren't more black ones sold, it was offered

The vinyl top was toast, we did keep the trim on the car for it, thought it kinda added some lines

Thanks!

Keeping the trim for the "vinyl" top was a good idea. Even though it may not be vinyl anymore it keeps that original feel. I like it!

This looks fantastic!! I haven't decided what I want as my "second" AMC, but this gives me a lot of ideas. I really like '78-79 Concords, especially the coupes. But GREAT GREAT job!!

I like to to tell people my Eagle is like a Ferrari. It's quirky, tempermental, border-line exotic, and something you don't see everyday.  See? Makes perfect sense....
