I have an  84 Eagle wagon, the rear defroster doesn't work.  Here is what I know:  the defroster grid has continuity, so it's OK.  I have continuity to ground on one side of the grid, but no power to the other side.  The switch is OK, as it lights.  The defroster circuit fuse is OK.  This only leaves the timer relay, can you tell me where it is located, and how to access?  Thanks.

It is part of the switch.  See diagram below:

Thanks for the quick reply.   I thought it probably was, but the diagram is a bit unclear in my book.   Guess i best tackle this today, as we've had frost the last 3 nights.

IowaEagle

Let us know where you find a switch for it at.

As it turns out, the relay was fine-  The wire to the defroster had become dislodged from the receptacle, easy fix.  I did pull the cover off the relay (I'm a curious sort of guy), and the good news is these relays are really simple and easily repairable with a few parts from any electronics shop.

IowaEagle

That is good news times 2.  Could you work up a How To?  That way we could archive it.

You bet!  Give me a cupla days to source the part #s, and I'll give an easy diagnosis synopsis, parts list, and pics
