At least the crash test was done correctly, for a good cause, and is done to test all makes of cars. The mythbusters thing was junk, not done correctly and was a total waste.
Just my opinion, of course. I don't know what they have done since - I haven't watched it.

The myth actually involved a rusted Corvair convertible. Which actually might be plausible since the Corvair's engine and trans are aluminium and casings are two halves, which could separate a lot easier than our rugged Eagles. Regardless, I don't want to see either an Eagle or a classic Corvair destroyed to prove a point.

I know the test is important for safety reasons, but the mythbusters thing makes me sad.....

Less Eagles eavery week in the world, I kept thinking of all those great parts that just got smashed up, heck to me it looked like the whole car coulda been saved.

sorry if i offended anyone, by mentioning it, i only mentioned the show as the eagle wagon in it shows truly how strong these cars are, as when it hit the plow it sustained minimal damage considering the rate and size of the collision, thats the only reason i mentioned it, ironically the crash test and the other video were most likely filmed at the same place in burlington wisconson at the amc proving grounds (not alaska) and the 2 eagles were most likely ones that had been sitting around there.

I think the number of station wagons produced, total, from 1980-1988, was only around 119,000! That's a pretty rare car to be running into a snowplow for a silly test like that... not to mention the wagons had the highest production numbers, and they smashed one of those funny little cars with a "trunk" too!

(I'm partial to the wagon, but it's nothing personal)

Just out of curiosity, do we have an idea as to an estimate of how many cars are currently accounted for as being in running condition, or at least, not smashed and/or rusty?
