Very nice sx4!

I'm in the process of replacing my engine too,  really miss driving it.....especially when it snowed a little last weekend!

Love the wheels, been looking for a set of those they are the ones I like best, had a set on an 87 commanchee, the only brand new vehicle I ever bought.

Manu dates have been on tires for a very long time.  The original tires on my '79 Wheelhorse have the month/date stamped on them.  We replaced an original tire on my Father's 194? Farmall B tractor last year, and it had the manu date molded into it.  I've seen old bias ply tires from the early '70s with the manu date in them.  What has changed is how the date is recorded.

Tires should always be stored in the vertical in a dry, dark location where they can get adequate ventilation.

Trailers should use only trailer tires.  They are constructed in a completely different manner then a P/LT tire.

Hope your new-to-you used tires prove sound.  Keep the updates coming as I for one love build threads.
I am what Willis was talking about.

WELL.
the tires all look great. no chips, rips, slices, cracks, nothing. BUT....the newest date on them is "1900". SO i paid $200 for some old rims. AWESOME. but at least i know what im looking for and now i can buy safer and smarter in the future i suppose. the last thing i need is to have one of thoes tires blow at 65 and have me and my car dart accross I5 like a scolded dog. ill be pulling some money out of the next few pay checks to get some NEW new tires. and thanks again, i would have ran thoes things with out a doubt in my mind. you saved me a LOT of grief and head ache, and possably my Eagle.

Any one want to buy a set of tires!? CHEAP CHEAP!! $300 obo!

and AMC 1320- I KNOW! my car has been in the shop since Sep. 2011. i want to take it out and drive the life out of it! im so excited to have it! it will have brand new A arms, strut rods, both strut rod brackets, new ball joints upper and lower, new exaust, new motor-top to bottom, and i will have my CB hooked up!
YEE HAW! cant wait!

Oh, the infamous Wildernes AT. I don't think Firestone has made those for several years after the Ford Explorer debacle. However, your Eagle will look great with those wheels. I think they are the best looking wheel on an Eagle.

That SX4 is smokin' hot!...Eagles look so good in black on black. I don't know why they are so scarce. Seems folks opted for the whites and browns abck then for what ever reason. over half of the eagles I owned in the past were white and nutmeg or tan and nutmeg......Ive been looking for a set of those Jeep turbine rims for some time now and they have all been trashed, over priced or sold before I got there...I guess my SX4 is gonna have to be happy with her dated old stock wheel covers  :-\

thanks man! it needs some paint BAD (the roof is peeling and kinda rusting). but i know! all of the AMC's i see are some sort of cream/white with a brown or tan side pannels. And i have only seen 2 other SX4's and mine is the only black one i have seen. i found my rims on CL, just keep checking, they will come up eventuailly. or junk yard?
post some pics! id love to see your car!  :eaglebig:
