Im in same boat as you EagleJoe. All those parts Eagles are on west coast, and I'm here in VA. I did locate a Gremlin and 2 Mid 80's Wagoneers in the local P&P this past weekend, but wasn't anything I could use off them.

I'm in NJ in an area where the local yards scrap anything more than ten years old.  So finding a car from the late 90's would be amazing. I know I can get almost any part I need from here but I would like to be able to go somewhere and get them myself.

I go to a gigantic junk yard about 10 minutes from Cabelas in Hamburg, PA. They used to have two dozen Eagles at a time. Now there is alot less Eagles coming in, but it's still common to see them. They keep everything for about 4 months then scrap it. It's about an hour and a half from me. You could be even closer than I am if you live in central NJ.

That junkyard has about a dozen full size jeeps at a time. I got a running 304 V8 from a CJ there. They torched it out for me and included all the accessories for $120. They are the cheapest, largest, busiest junkyard you can imagine.

Wow they have a website now. I tried to find them online once before and couldn't. Here is the website. Everyone should look at the picture on the website. The amount of cars they have is insane. That entire picture is one gigantic junkyard.

Wow, they really do have a lot! I'm getting that it's a two hour fifteen minute drive from me so it's not as close as I hoped it would be. Still seems like it is definitely worth going over there anyway.

I guess I don't get out enough to consider a two hour drive short.  Being a college student with limited funds I don't think I could make it there whenever I wanted to.

In high school I earned the Spaatz Award in Civil Air Patrol, the grade of Expert Ranger, and served as Cadet Commander at a Civil Air Patrol National Activity. That is why my name here includes the "Captain" reference. The Hawk Mountain Search and Rescue school is about 10 minutes down the road from the junkyard. I literally went to this junkyard twice a month because that is how often I was at those activities.

I've personally seen at least 300 different Eagles and Spirits here. Just about all of them were in better shape than any of mine. They used to have two dozen new Eagles come and go about every three months. Now you're lucky to find 3 or 4 of them there. It's not the same as it used to be.

I still laugh when people comment about how rare AMC engines and transmissions are today. For $200 they will torch them out together and put them in the back of your truck. A decade ago there used to be three dozen full size Jeeps in that yard at a time, and there was still a dozen AMC 360's and TF72s in there last time I went there. You can't count the number of XJ's. No CJs, YJs, or TJs are there because those fetch too much at auction and get stripped too quickly to stay there. They had three International Scouts.
