Hi, This is the new owner of Irma donnyeagle. He is now called Henley (singer from the Eagles)
I fixed the headlights (new dimmer switch on steering column) also had to repair headlight assembly, broken plastic bezel.
Turn signal (right front light socket needed cleaned)
Lighter (fuse)
Wiper speeds (grounded the switch)
New shocks (old ones where original completely shot)
Rebuilt carberator.
Did ECM Test bypass.
Upgraded distributor cap, rotor, wires.
Tweeked timing and carb. Still has hard time on hills but seems reliable.
Fixed rattling exhaust pipe (rear hanger needed attached)
4wd works now (vacuum line feel off at transfer case)
Replaced rear brakes (emergency cable rusted, will replace soon, caused bad brake pad cracks)
Fixed front seat belts.
Other stuff to do:
Replace driver door hinge pin/bushing.
Replace headliner.
Clean seats.
Repair sagging drivers seat.
Repair rear deck.
Repair some floor pan rust.
Fix leaking trunk.
Replace seal around drivers side window.
Install speakers.
Replace axle boot.
Fix temp gauge.
Fix A/C.
Straighten bumpers.
Replace tires with wider blackwalls.
Install air shocks to fix rear sag.
BIG thing now. Bad rust at rear spring front hanger. Will not pass inspection until repaired. I hope it is repairable. If not I'm dead in the water with Henley.
I think I like this car. Rides VERY well on our ruff dirt roads. Got 20 MPG on 300 mile trip. Hope to get better MPG.
Looks are growing on me. Waxed the hood and trunk and looks much better. One of the best things is parts are cheap and readily available because it is basically a Jeep.
I'm sure I will really love Henley come winter time. I should be done fixing him up by then.
