Lifted SX4 Littleton, CO

A buddy of mine just called me to tell me he saw a lifted black and red SX4 with a roof rack in Littleton, CO. He said, "Why don't you get one like that? It's cool looking" I said, "mine's cool looking".  He said, "No it isn't, it's a station wagon".

Why would anybody want a lifted wagon or SX4?
