I bought a 79 Concord grill off of evil bay, it has vertical slats.  I set it in front of the existing grill, let me know what you think.  I might swap it out next weekend.

they both look good but Ive always been more partial to the concord and spirit grills, they got a little more personality in my opinion.

I actually prefer the original grille over that one.  It looks great on a Concord, but it just doesn't seem suited to an Eagle.

Minor nit - that's a '79 Concord grille.  The '78 was a completely different animal and won't even fit an Eagle.

Thanks for the clarification.  It was advertised as a 78, that's what I was going by.

And thanks for your opinion on the grill.  I don't really have anything against the stock grill, but I'm always interested in considering modifications that don't cost much money and are reversible.

Thats why Odie got the Spirit grill treatment....like ya said dave its a cool and affordable modification...and the best part is if you dont like it, its a five minute change back.

Personally I'd take any grill over the stock egg crate. I'm not a fan of that one. I say go for it. I like the the slat grill look. Maybe not quite as cool as the 80 Eagle Grill/Concord grill that has the horizontal slats.

maddog

i like the slats better but that's just me.

This is what it will look like in place.  A PO had installed the grill in our 88 before we bought it.

Was that grill painted black Jim? It doesn't look very chrome.

I'm partial to the egg crate. But I would realy like to see something like the FSJ muscle grill on an Eagle.
