Once a year, a group from www.expeditionportal.com gathers in north Georgia for the Country Fried Weekend. They deep fry a turkey and anything else they feel like. It consists of camping for a couple days and an off road excursion. I arrived Friday afternoon at the Jones Creek campsite in the Chattahoochee National Forest. The weather wasn't cooperating. It was cold and rainy. I made it through the cold damp night in my one man tent, but it was a miserable night. Saturday a group went for a off road ride. It was mostly improved forest roads, but we did venture on to some slightly difficult trails. I had a blast and couldn't believe the amount of compliments and questions I was getting about the Eagle. We rolled in a little late on Saturday and missed most of the dinner. But the little bit that I was able to eat was delicious. Here are some pics and I expect others to post some pics on the other forum and I will post those as they come available.

After our fiasco with the Toyota Corolla I got for my wife I believe I am done with Japanese vehicles.

Dude you are preaching to a choir member that is close to becoming an AMC Minister if you know what I mean.

Great pictures!   Thanks.  So, was your Eagle the only true AMC product there?  That is something that was prior to the "merger".  I love your roof rack -- good job on the graphics.

I spent Saturday night in the front seat of the Eagle. It was uncomfortable but at least I was dry.

Absolutely. Most vehicles were foreign. Land Rovers, FJ Crusiers, Landcrusiers, a couple of Lexus and 3 Unimogs to name a few.

Now that's how weekends are supposed to be spent!! Egg-cellent photos by the way. Just curious, was that little Subaru part of the mix? it looks a little "underequipped" to keep of with the rest of pack.

He went with another group that did a shorter, sight seeing route. It is slightly lifted and has full skid plates underneath.

Your Eagle looks HAPPY!
Maybe not at the end of the day, I beat the crap out of it. The alternator took a beating somehow. I'm dropping off the alternator this morning to get fixed.
