Hey everyone, sorry I haven't checked the thread in a few weeks. Things went crazy at work and suddenly we were all working 14-16 hour days to try and meet our submission deadline.

Anyway, rollguy (Rich) came all the way over from Hesperia today and agreed to buy the car! He's owned a whole bunch of Eagles so I'm really happy it's going to him, but sad at the same time to see it go. He was even talking about how he thought it'd be cool to paint the lower half satin black, which was exactly what I had always wanted to do to it. So I think he's going to be able to take it and make it really nice. I can't wait to see this car back on the road!

Thanks everyone for checking it out.

Hey guys,
Unfortunately Rich, the buyer, had some unforeseen circumstances come up and may not be able to buy the car after all. The big problem is that I'll likely be moving either to the Bay Area or completely out of state in as little as three weeks. So I'm actually DESPERATE to find a home for this car.  Like, borderline freaking out about it. If anyone knows ANYBODY that might be interested please, PLEASE contact me a.s.a.p.
Thanks everyone!

This will be one sweet ride when it's all put back together. Really wish I had the money and time to pick this thing up. Someone is gonna get a heck of a deal. PacerMike...you might have to go the Ebay route. I would think even with a no reserve you could probably get what you are asking for on this project. You might be surprised and get even more! :)

Looks like PacerMike has this listed on the bay now. Someone needs to scoop this up and give it some love. It will be one sweet ride when it's complete!

I was able to work things out in order to get the car!   Andy (PacerMike) and his father delivered the car today!  He took some photos of loading the car, so I will let him post them here first (I know you can't wait!).   I have some photos as well, but I will post them and the details later....Rich

Hi everyone! It's true, my dad and I hauled the Eagle over to Rich's place today! I see there's a picture of it in Rich's signature already, awesome! Here's a couple of pics I took of the move.

Here it is about 7:00 this morning as I was getting all the parts together.

Got the 4.0 in the bed of the truck! My dad's putting the bumpers up on the rack.

Here comes the trailer.

And the Eagle's up and ready to roll. Check out the load on the truck. The back tires are practically touching the wheel well.

Here we are getting on the 55.

The 91 was so dang bumpy we pulled over to make sure everything was still where we wanted it to be.

You can see how low the back of the truck is sitting again :)

And here it is at home in Rich's garage. Man, it was so good to see it in a garage again. All that oil on the cardboard is from the extra NP242 transfer case we brought over, but the Eagle drips a little bit too.

And here's Rich taking the 4.0 down from the hoist.

Loading the engine was a little tricky and the truck worked pretty hard pulling the grade on parts of the 15 and the 138 but all in all it was a really smooth trip.

When I got the Eagle off the trailer and drove it around to Rich's garage I was having a hard time getting the car to move forward. I thought, "Ut-oh, is the transmission slipping?" It was acting fine when we loaded it up earlier. Then I remembered I set the parking brake.  ::) Duh, the car moved fine after that.

It was sad to let the car go after owning it for so long but I felt really good about leaving it with Rich. I really think he'll be able to get this thing back on the road where it belongs. I can't wait for the 4.0 swap! I hope I get to buy it back from him someday  ;D

A familiar site at our place:  an Eagle on a trailer either coming or going!

All the stuff that came with the car (including the inside of the car packed!):

The 4.0 & TC put away:

I am very happy to be able to take on this project even though I have several others to do as well.   I am also glad to have met Andy and his dad, great people.   I told Andy that he has first dibs on the car, should I get it finished and decide to sell it.   I will also continue this thread as the build thread unless anyone has any objections.....Rich

I object if you don't!! Always good to see stories of Eagles being brought back to life. Now would be the time to do the aluminum valve cover since the engine's out. Rear main too.

Rich I can see why you couldn't pass it up.  It is definitely in good hands.  Good luck with it.

Unfortunately, those hands are VERY busy lately.   It may be a while before anything gets done. It will be hibernating for a while (do birds hibernate?)....Rich
