Yeah, I found lots of pics...but they all looked fabricated...some of them really well...but after some digging on the forums the photos were posted on I saw they were built and couldn't find any info on production 4 door J Trucks.

Unlike IH and the others, Jeep didn't build a crew cab
AMC/Jeep gauges are for amusement only. Any correlation between them and reality is purely coincidental!

Got passed on I-80 by an interesting AMC today....

Sorry for the picture quality.  I had my good camera, but these are taken thru the Saturn window going somewhere between 45 and 70 mph.  I think he knew I was taking pictures, and was messing with me-kept changing lanes.

Actually I had to slow to about 45 mpg, so it could catch me.  Looks to be pretty well made.  Looks like he cut the top of a back hatch to make the back window.  I liked it a lot.

Just to keep yall informed - the shape of the top of the MJ Comanche cab and the shape of the top of the XJ Cherokee roof-lines DO NOT match up easily, and much fabrication and patchwork time will be spent there. Believe me, I wanted to build one with my MJ, but decided it was best to not cut up my really clean truck just for a tiny XJ back seat and have to shorten the bed or live with a ridiculously long but narrow vehicle. The proportions wouldn't be right unless it was lifted and sat on tires on the order of 37's. It just looks goofy near stock ride height or slightly lifted. The 2dr XJ mini truck(red one, first page of thread) is one of my favorite custom XJs.

And too bad there were no factory 4dr J-trucks, or an Eagle El-Camino.

I would drive the one I saw. It's made from an amc-designed xj too. Can't imagine how useful that bed would be though

Yeah definitely well-built.  Cross country trek attests to that.

Didn't mean any offense to Pepper or any of the other cross-country Eagles out there.
