Jeep Ranchero-kee
« on: November 13, 2011, 11:11:01 PM »
I went to the junkyard yesterday and found this Cherokee which had been modified to be kind of a Ranchero/El Camino/Pickup truck.

ive seen a couple of those running around here. I talked to one guy that did that with a bronco 2 and although it looked really cool he said it opened a whole new can of worms with water leakage and rust issues. If i had the skills and money i would love to do that with a junk yard eagle wagon....kinda do that whole subaru baja thing

all I can think is the modern "SUT's" Sports Utility Trucks. like the Ridgeline, Avalanche, Baja,  and explorer "Pickup" type, and the new "Rampage" that's suppose to be replacing the Dakota... I just have to wonder though, WHY DOES EVERYTHING NEED 4 DOORS!? (Sorry... I had to do it)

This is a common conversion. The four doors can get away with it without strengthing the frame, tho obviously they should be strengthened, while the two doors straight up need stiffeners added. The two doors won't fold in half instantly, but they will bend and distort over time or fold under offroading stresses. I plan on doing this to my two door cherokee. I want to use an MJ tailgate, and might use the MJ rear cab section with the little window like this guy did.

ive been looking for one to do this too.... there is a really good example of one in the indy area cl.
mixed martial artist are like pit bulls. were highly trained and bred to protect our family, our property, and ourselves. But when someone rattles the cage and gets bit they aim to put us down like their stupidity is our fault. I am a cage fighter, does that mean i want to hurt you outside the cage? No. will i stand there and let you beat me because im trained to fight inside the cage? No. If you pick a fight i will defend my self, regardless of my training or your lack of. if you get hurt i may feel bad but in the end the fault is yours. If your to stupid not to start something you cant finish the i suggest you stay on the porch.

Hey that Pacer Pickup looks pretty cool - and very well done!!

That red 2 door cherokee looks really good too!

I just have to wonder with those type of vehicles, what good is the pint-sized bed - you can't really fit anything in it!  Might as well have the covered inside storage for luggage, valuables, etc
