Picking up Freeagle!
« on: November 05, 2011, 01:51:15 PM »
Some of you may have seen the thread about the Free Eagle in MO. Well I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and I figured I'd share the trip with you all...and yes, I do already have a name for it. Freeagle just works too perfect!

Not much to report yet as we won't be picking it up til early evening tomorrow. I'm hoping there will still be light so I can take some photos.

As of right now the U-haul has been rented and the guy let us pick it up today and return it on Monday and he's only charging me for 1 day rental.

i don't know, I don't think it would be an issue, I might grunt and groan, but with it on the trailer, it might squat, but I bet she would get'r dun.

as for the name Freeagle all I can think is the song "Free bird" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=np0solnL1XY

though, that's just my insanity talking there. Good luck, watch out for idiot drivers, and If you can't avoid them... Well, use your imagination... or just give them lead poisoning. (J/K kinda)

They are the exact some car basically, but Freeagle has all the options TQ only wished she had.

I apologize for the lack of decent photos, but I forgot about daylight savings time and it was pretty much dark by the time we picked up Freeagle. Plus my phone battery was almost died and the flash wouldn't work. So here's all I got.

Leaving Rolla, I put 80 bucks in my drivers truck. 2004 Ford F-350 Super Duty Diesel Dually.

Got to HTWTUSA's house and it was already dark. We talked a bit about the car and wasted no time pushing it up onto the Auto Transport. My first ride in Freeagle was will it was being pushed downhill and onto the trailer! :)

And here she is safely transported to it's temporary home. My dad's garage.

Power everything!!! And the center gauge cluster...couldn't get a picture of it cause my battery was too died for the flash to go off. So those are the goodies!

Very faded wood paneling...and paint for that matter. Barely even looks like the same color as TQ.

The flock! :)

Yeah...i'm a little worried about rusty on the underside. Couldn't Getty a good look since it was dark. I did peek under there and it didn't look bad.
