Trip to the Rambler Ranch Sept 13 2011
« on: September 13, 2011, 09:01:30 PM »
As part of my road trip, http://forums.amceaglenest.com/index.php?topic=36168.0  I went to the Rambler Ranch in Elizebeth Colorado.   I met up with Dave (vangremlin) at his work, and followed him to the 'Ranch:

We arrived about 10:00 AM.  Dave and his Kamback, and my wagon:

A few photos of the grounds:

I got a photo of the Diesel Eagle awaiting it's restoration:

A photo of the "bone yard":

I wish he would throw a bone my way someday!
The AMC building:

Bird's eye view (pun intended!):

Photos of some of the AMC's:

Thanks for sharing; that is quite a colection, and that is just the tip of the iceberg from what I hear.  Can't wait to see the other pictures.

*drools* Man, those are some nice AMC's and that Kammy is purdy. And I envy the "bone yard". Not sure I want to see anymore pictures, someone already owes me a new keyboard....  :rotfl:

Thanks for posting the pictures Rich.  It was great to meet you and thanks again for the bumpers!

As for the Ranch, and I know I'm repeating myself, you really can't appreciate it until you've seen it in person.  Pictures just don't do it justice.  And once again I'm repeating myself, but Terry Gale, the owner, is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet.  He took about 2.5 hours out of his day to give Rollguy (Rich), Eaglebeek (Ralph), and myself a personal tour.  What was really nice about it was we got his undivided attention, and he told us the story behind just about every car on display.  Amazing, amazing, amazing.  Shanebo was supposed to join us but had to deal with an unplanned event at work, but we'll definitely get him up there soon.

Terry indicated that the AMC Rambler Club (AMCRC) will be holding its annual convention in Denver in 2013, with a trip planned to the Ranch.  He suggested the 2013 International Eagle Meet might want to be scheduled for the same time.  Something to think about.

Thanks again Rich for coming through Denver and giving me another excuse to go to the Rambler Ranch.  I'll go there as often as I can, you notice something different everytime you go!

I'm not sure.  From their website, the 2011 convention was in July, and the 2012 is scheduled for June.  I'll contact them and see if the date is set.

Here is a link to the "Meets" page of their website.  It looks like a really good site!

More Ranch photos:

One of several Sundancers:

A real nice Kamback:

This car was sold to Terry by a guy that owned a dealer years ago.  The Matador was never sold at the dealer, so the owner  kept it.  He sold it to Terry for the sticker price, (about $7,500?).   The car has ONLY 101 Miles on it!

The Kelvinator Kitchen:

Interesting pattern on a deck, I wonder what it is?

Terry has the coolest bus for shuttling folks from town to the 'Ranch:

A BMW Isetta "Limo":

Inside the Nash building:

A one of a kind Nash truck:

License plate wall:

Inside the gas station/gift shop:

I failed to get photos of the FSJ Wagoneer S--T---R--E---T--C--H  Limo and the new 4X4 building to house the Jeeps and Eagles (under construction).

X2 (or more)!! Totally amazing. Thought for a minute that first Kamback looked like the one I had once upon a time, but mine didn't have the wheels, just hubcaps. Is that BMW the one where the whole front end opens up so you can get in?

Interesting. Saw one on Erkel once. Don't know if I'd want to drive one. Seems to me like you'd be the first one there if you had an accident. Even less there than a van.
