I would like to find some electric outside rearview mirrors to put on my 1987 Eagle Wagon. It is the Deluxe edition. I would also be happy to do modification using stepper motors and the appropriate controls to modify the current mirrors (cable operated).

Thanks for any input.

If that fails, they are sometimes on the big auction site.  I too recommend our Classifieds first.
I'm right 98% of the time, and I don't care about the other 3%.

Get some for a Jeep Grand Wagoneer.

You can get the switch and wiring from the Grand Wagoneer, but the mirrors themselves may not be such a good fit.

There are some Cadillac mirrors and Ford Crown Vic Mirrors from the 80's that look like they's be a good fit.  THought of pulling a set from a Caddie in a local 'yard this summer, but I wasn't sure where to start on the electrical side of things.

The last of the boxy-body Lincoln Town Cars have mirrors that look like they could work, and I recall the driver's side had a digital outside-temperature readout in one corner, so they were definitely electric.

Just check the Grand Wagoneers with my AMC Eagle SX/4 and there is no way they will work with out major fabrication of parts.

OK what I've being thinking for my AMC Eagle SX/4 is using the mirrors out of 1974 to 1979 Ford Pick up, the thing is they are not remote control.

There was an 85 limited in a junk yard here that had the electric mirrors. I was going to grab them but they sent it to the crusher before I had the chance to get them. One other unlikely candidate that I noticed strictly by accident is the ealrly model toyota previa van (early 90's). I have not tried it yet, but looking at a previa in a junk yard a while back it looks like they would fit and look good with little if any modification.

....they're not moulded to fit a particular shape door pillar like a lot of other cars. These just screw right on to the side of the door...I might have to try that somtime.

Hold-out for the factory electric Mirrors.  AMC made them for at least 8 years.  That's what I'm doing.  I really want to keep my car original; though, I'm not having much luck finding any either!

I'm getting quite a list of what I need, and what other "Eagle Nesters" need also!

About three years ago I saw a set of these mirrors sell for $500.00 on eBay.  Mind you, that was a bit of an anomaly... there was a guy on there buying up everything in sight that was Eagle related, and paying huge coin for it.

I have a pair of them somewhere... which I'll sell for less than $500.00.  ;D

I wish I would have grabbed the ones off that 85' before it got crushed.....I wonder how difficult it would be to keep the original mirror bucket and just swap out the internal hardware and wiring from something like an old Lincoln or Cadillac...the mirrors were darn near identical in dimension.

That style of mirror was very popular through the 1980's on a bunch of makes and models.
