Was the oil pump on the Eages 258 the same as the one on the jeeps 258. If not are they still available new..or rebuildable possibly?
Not an emergency but down the road a bit I will need to do something with mine.

also make sure you get a really good seal around the tube where it goes into the pump. if air gets in there it can aerate the oil or even worse stop oil from getting in

Thanks guys!  ;D Ive never replaced an oil pump before....Its one of those things I want to be very sure about what Im doing.

There are some Jeep oil pumps that are not compatible with the Eagle oil pick up tube.  When I replaced the engine in my Eagle I was going to put in a new pump, but the tube would just not work with the new oil pump - the portion where the tubes went in was not as long on the new pump, and therefore the tab on the pickup tube had no place to attach.  I ended up going with the original pump and tube.
